— Burning For A Fight | Cloud and Faris

cloudtaejin:

Cloud was sure he could overcome the other, but he let his anger get in the way, all of his moved became reckless and created many openings. When he brought his sword down one final time he noticed the other’s quick movements, but it was too late to plan something.

Cloud then began pushing back to win the struggle between the warrior and him, but failed and was thrown to the ground. Cloud didn’t bother getting back up to keep fighting, he stared at the ground under him for a few seconds. All this training, and still not much change, what am I doing wrong? he asked himself lacking confidence.

He knew that he hasn’t cast Fira yet, but that would be too much for this fight, he didn’t want to take someone’s life. Cloud’s eyes then went to the side when he heard the man speak. He still wants more……….. Cloud told himself with a smirk. His right hand got a good grip of his sword and then he stood still for a few more seconds.

“Here’s that fire you want” Cloud told the other as he swung his sword the opposite direction of his opponent, but in a circular motion returning back to strike his opponent. The flames grew large and flew in many directions. The sound of a large fire eating away at everything could be heard as if a forest was just caught in flames.

More sweat came sliding down Cloud’s face due to the heat of the spell. Was…….. that a Flamestrike Blitz? he asked himself half-amazed. Not paying much attention to his opponent he put his sword down and then looked around. Seeing the fire slowly disappear and the small waves of the sea extinguishing some of them.

It seemed like all the fight had gone out of the blonde warrior. He stared at the ground and seemed to be berating himself for letting Faris get in the blow that knocked him over.

But something shifted in his eyes as soon as Faris taunted him, and that was the only warning Faris got before the other soldier’s grip on his sword tightened.

“Here’s that fire you want.”

The blonde swung his sword outward in a wide arc and fire seemed to burst from all directions. Faris barely had time to put the Brave Blade in front of her to block a direct hit. The blonde’s giant sword hit her with such force that she was sent flying backwards.

She skidded to a halt in the sand, landing in a somewhat crumpled position. As she brought herself up to her feet again, she looked around in wonder. There was fire everywhere. It spread out over the beach in a wide wave, heating up the atmosphere. Faris had already been sweating before but the heat wave brought on by the attack only made it worse.

She looked over to the other; he had lowered his sword and was standing there, seemingly amazed by himself. On top of that, he seemed just as exhausted by their fight as Faris. She smirked and walked over to him, extending her hand as she went.

“That was the attack you were working on before wasn’t it?” she said as she finally reached him, hand still held out, “Don’t know about you but that fight wiped me out. Truce?”
